I just use the standard recommended stuff for sharks down at LBI. a 12ft rod that can throw around 10oz, big reel that holds 300yards+ of 65lb braid, 100lb shock leader, 174lb wire leader, 4,6,8oz weights, and a 10/0 circle hook.

Thanks for the help guys. I will try those locations. sounds like I may be too far down at LBI, and maybe they mostly hang out near the barnegat inlet.
This spot is alright but the main qualm with it is that it is a shallow beach and i feel like even if I cast as far as I'm able, I'm still throwing into only a couple feet of water.


Or maybe I just have to be more patient and wait for even warmer weather. The day i went and didn't get a bite, it was a bit cold compared to the previous trip.
