Too many skunky deer out there.. Most hunters want a big broad shouldered, atypical massive rack buck, the nastiest, skunkiest, pissyest tasting deer you can eat.. No thanks.... bob

New guy here that's been lurking for awhile but felt I had to register just to refute your opinion on venison with my own(because people shouldn't read that and get the absolute wrong idea). I truly couldn't believe what I was reading! I'm sorry you feel that way about venison but it's not the meat it's either you or your friends can't cook or can't field dress worth a damn! I've never tasted a piece of meat from any part of the deer that has the characteristics of what you stated.
Even the biggest mature bucks I've shot taste great. It says a lot about your taste though when you say you'd rather have the blandest cut of meat that you can buy, loaded with who knows what over a piece of free range, fully organic deliciousness that is venison. I wish I had video of the people I tricked into thinking they where eating beef telling me how great it is.
Back on topic, it's for me definitely more about the hunt with the added bonus of dinner!
