Default Prowler5 - Sun., July 2nd, Fluke and Seabass Report

Hey gang, Capt. Scott here. I had the boat out today with Alex and Shane as my deckhands. After just having a pick yesterday with the fluke in the bay, we headed right out to the ocean where we previously caught them. There was a slight roll, but the ocean was nice. Had 8 out of 24 with limits on seabass with basically no drift. But, couldn't get the fluke going because of the water temperature being very cold. Hopefully it warms up for tomorrow because I'm going back out there again. I also steamed offshore about 7 miles and the drift was too fast out there at 1.6. We couldn't even hold with 12s. Then we tried the apple pie grounds in 75 feet, didn't find any life and we retreated to the Navy pier and boated a couple of nice keeper fluke with a good drift to end the day. Looking forward to getting back out in the ocean tomorrow. Hopefully we have better conditions with the temperature and drift. See you at 5:30 for coffee. Thx., Capt. Scott
