Trolled the canal from Blackwells to Griggstown dodging raindrops today. Started with a chartreuse and white spinnerbait and picked up two average snot rockets. Switched to a keitech and picked up two perch, one of which was a brightly colored 14"er. Wanted something more substantial so I put on a gold chatterbait with a fat impact keitech trailer and sprayed it down with a generous dose of ass treaks. Moments later I had a 19" slime dart with a serious attitude on the end of the line headshaking his way to the boat and trying to bite everything in sight once he was in it. Got him unhooked and decided to grab the baitcaster and target cast holes back to where my truck was. Had one of those throws 6" from the bank that you know is money and sure enough a healthy LMB hit the spinnerbait as soon as it hit the water to end the day in style. Even though the turtles weren't on the logs today they were everywhere in the water including two 30lb+ big daddy snappers with heads the size of baseballs. Grand total for the day: 3- pickerel, 2- perch, 1 lmb
