Pretty much every year they congregate there. Been that way for far too long! I can't wait for that dam to be removed! When conditions are right the big browns from the D congregate there in the fall while trying to make a spawning run up the 'kill. Likewise you'll often find walleye ganged up there around now for the same reason, and in the summer it's not at all uncommon to tangle with some stripers there.

Removing that dam will be quite an undertaking. It's actually hollow with a tunnel that runs the width of it inside. Restoring the river channel above the dam will also be a difficult task due to the immense volume of sediment buildup in the former lakebed, now just mainly a shallow muck hole with a channel through it.
