Shad are still here
Waded North of the Gap last night from 3 to 7:30 and I landed roughly 20 Shad. The river was a bit high and a little stained but that didn't deter these aggressive Shad. Had fish all night on silver/ chartreuse spoons. I had a mix of really nice Roe and bucks. I think due to the chilly water these fish fought really hard with some great acrobatics mixed in. Due to an unexpected illness this was my first Shad trip of the year and it was a great one. Haven't missed a Shad run in 25 years and I was happy I was able to keep that going. I think we have a solid week or so to take advantage of this phenomenal run.
