Yes, if you want to ice fish, this year its pretty much all the way north.. Otsego is a more productive lake than the Adirondack lakes, but some years it doesn't get good ice.. Its been a mild winter so far.. The Finger Lakes have better trout and LL salmon fishing than Lake George, and a lot less pressure, but they generally don't freeze enough for most ice fishermen.. Depends on the year.. Champlain is a wonderful fishery, but its huge, and the fish aren't everywhere, and a guide might be a good choice first time up... bob
