Took a ride to the Stear with pops yesterday. Had high hopes with the overcast almost foggy conditions. Got there to find an unusual scene at the launch..... A full size pick up truck, stuck in the mud, about 50ft from the usual launch!!! Also, a member of the local PD was there, observing. Spent a few mins watching this unlucky guy digging his tires out and b'sing with the officer. Had to carry the boat pretty far to the water but we launched. Love the tin can, what it lacks in comfort it makes up for with functionality.......
Couldn't believe how low the water was. Most of the underwater humps were small islands!!
Well, at least I know more about the structure in there now, lol. Anyway, the fish were willing. Caught a handful of smallies, biggest went about 16-17". Actually, the biggest went about 2 feet in the air and spit pop's lure due to lazy net job by me. Easy 4# maybe more. $#@&!!! Also got a couple pickerel.
All in all, had a decent day fishing and best of all, had the lake to ourselves!!
