Hit Wawayanda Saturday for only the 2nd time on the boat. I've had success there hiking and fishing from shore, but on the boat the wind and the weeds just foul me up on this lake, and the wind wasn't even bad on Saturday. Had 2 small pickerel follow a topwater but not hit, had nothing even sniff rubber worms, had one pickerel take a swipe at a crankbait but miss the hooks. Wound up skunked.
Hit another lake early this morn and it was incredible. Caught my biggest largemouth of the year (15" maybe 2-2.5 lbs) and my biggest pickerel ever at 23". The head on this thing was crazy! One of its teeth got me and I almost bled out
Had another nice bass that jumped, but then snapped my line and left me looking all dumb waving goodbye to my weightless worm.
