I've stayed on upper and lower Saranac, probably about ten times combined. If you have a boat available, I would recommend drifting live minnows over the submerged rocks away from the shore. The smallmouth action is typically good. These areas are clearly marked given they are a navigation hazard.

Minnows can be had at the Blue Line sports shop in town. Be sure to keep your bait receipt.
