The official rule of thumb on the boats Ive worked on:
Doormat = 10 pounds and up
Floor Mat = 12 pounds and up
Bath mat = 15 pounds and up
Laundromat = 32,000 pounds and up
If you catch the last one on any braid less than 30# you get a framed certificate from the IGFA
