5/17 we had joes charter for Stripers.
Being that there are so many blues in the bay and some big Stripers being caught ocean side, we decided to make our way back home to Shark River Inlet.
So we made bait real fast and loaded the well and baskets full. Ran east and stopped on readings. Drifted live baits for 2 miles and caught blues the entire time. The boys had enough of that and wanted to head down the beach and look for some jumbo stripes. Well let's just say it was not what we expected. Pretty lame actually. Drifted baits, trolled Maja spoons and mojos on every spot that usually produces this time of year, but nothing. Some scattered bait around though. That doesn't mean they can't be here today. That's for sure. We covered lots of ground and tried hard with only the blues to show for it today.

We are off Wednesday for maintenance and are going to grab much needed supplies for the ocean. Such as another Percy Cast Net and some Tony Maja tackle for the days where the fish don't eat bunker or there is no bunker.
