Not for lack of effort in the Asbury area we trolled and trolled and trolled. Early on we stopped on some bait, managed to snag a bunker and live lined for a while. Unfortunately no takers. Jigged with some shiny metal and hooked up with a smaller blue fish who released himself just at the side of the boat. Tested a "Water Taffy" jig I'm making and saw a couple nice strikes that tore the shad up. One more knock down on a spoon and that was it. Boat running great for first trip out. Cut the day short to head back home.....
