There used to be a dive bar near the Passaic River in Chatham. People called it "The Passaic River Yacht Club".
A while back there was an ice cream shop on Route 46 up near the Gap on the banks of the Delaware River. They always allowed patrons to fish on the property. I recall one time, they allowed some bow fishermen to drag the metal picnic tables out into the river and stand on them.
The ice cream shop seems to have gone out of business and nobody has re-opened the business in quite a few years.
