Been a while since here and many of you fished with Captain Jim McFarland on the Big Mac out of Green Harbor, MA prior to him crossing the bar and leaving us just over a year ago. Last year NMFS gave us a whopping three haddock per angler and the Big Mac fished for tuna only.
This season, Capt Jim McFarland Jr, of Big Mac Sport Fishing and Capt Dave of Relentless Charters will be working as a team. We are now announcing we will be fishing this season for groundfish, striped bass and tuna. Unfortunately the cod fish regs north of the Cape still are horrible with only one fish per angler August and September. The good news is with the haddock, we are looking at 15 haddock per person at 17' (expect larger), thats 120 haddock on a six man trip plus red fish, pollock and other fish such as mackeral to take home for the smoker.
Come tuna season there will be trips on the Big Mac for larger parties trolling squid bars or chasing Bluefin Tuna with poppers or jigging. Don't forget those shark trips, with long drifts while hauling haddock and pollock over the rail while on the drift.
