Default Wipers, Smallies, LMB and a surprise

With all of the thermocline trepidation-conversation going down, it was time to hit a spot where maybe I could go with the "flow", seasonal temperature fluctuations be damned, and just see what happens.

Being also as this is a spooky time of year with Halloween approaching, ya' never know who you might run into down by the waters edge.

Well lo' and behold, I encountered the legendary..........Gorilla-Guy!!

And let me tell you this monster was NOT in search of candy. It was on a MISSION to smack some Fall evening Bass.

I couldn't make out much of what it said, which was mostly grunts and groans. I just followed its lead and tried to "RELAX" as it pulled in one bass after another within 5 minutes of me showing up.

Well, after a "spirited" hour and a half of working the shore, this half-man, half-beast pulled in a couple of bucket mouths to 3.5 lbs, two wipers 6-7 lbs, and a smallie just shy of the 4lb mark. It even threw in a nice white perch and a crappie just to show, with a mighty beat of its chest, that it was STILL king of the water-jungle, and rounded out the species count at 5.

I managed to catch two smallies, the bigger of the two at 4lbs on the dot, me being just a neophyte to this body of water and all.

The mythical beast was even tame enough to pose for a blurred selfie with me as we had a tandem hookup towards dusk; its wiper and my smallie.

As dusk turned to dark, I thought it better to leave this anomaly of a creature to its own devices and make my exit. Before I left, I couldn't help but to ask Gorilla-Guy if he knew of a similar man-beast creature with comparable angling skills, known in these parts as the erstwhile, "Mr. Ed".

Gorilla-Guy just gave me a wicked stare and let out a loud and loathsome grunt.

I took that as my cue to get the hell out of there.
