I grew up on the lake up there as kid. As others posted , check with the locals, they will give you good information. Wilson is another port not far away. Here's some web sites to check out.... See if you can rent a cottage up there. Not may using their own that time of year and many rent to fishermen coming in.

Make sure you hit the clam stand on Main St in Olcott if you are into them. Couple laid back bars up there usually with local talent bands. Good luck!
