I caught my personal best fluke of 10.8 lbs there back about 8 years ago on a 3 oz. Spro jig. I usually use a 3 way swivel with a short dropper loop to hold the jig or weight. That way as the drift increases or slows down, you can quickly adjust your weight or jig. I then just have a 24"-36" leader with a hook to drag bait behind the jig. Rule of thumb is slow drift you use a short leader and fast drift a longer leader. The Spro I caught that on was the green and white one. I hope you have good luck!
