Default Reel Action Fluke 7/12 whale and dolphin watching

Capt. Marc with Ralph Jr. had the Bob Kuglar charter aboard for fluke. Rounding out the charter was George, George Jr. and Anthony. This was a few guys first time ocean fishing. You couldn't beat the weather. We went north again. Our first drift put 3 fish in the box. We returned to the same line, only to find no drift at all. For the next 1 1/2 we picked a fluke here and there. A move to deeper water, 60', put us on a little drift. Around 11, the breeze came up and we were drifting at 0.8 knots or so. The fluke started biting and they put a few more keepers in the box. We we're able to put a by-catch of 4 sea bass in the box. They ended the day with 5 keepers and 40-50 shorts. Big fish was around 3 lbs. the highlight of the trip was a finback coming up within a couple hundred feet of us, as we were drifting. As we were moving up the line a little, a pod of porpoise, were heading south. They had about 10 babies with them. No more than 3-4' long. Pretty amazing.
