Default SBR Long Valley 7/1/15

Fished an unregulated stretch. Started at an area that was stocked and kept wading upstream. Caught one stocked rainbow, two wild browns, and a wild brookie. Had many more hits from wild fish that found a way to wiggle off after a few seconds. This made me realize that I need to get better at setting the hook. Had another large feisty rainbow hooked that broke off when I was reaching back to grab my net. Not sure if he was state stockie or a club fish that came downstream. Water temp was about 65.

I've been hearing for years that often the fishing in the upper SBR (by upper I mean upstream of Lake Solitude) can be just as good outside the TCAs. Yesterday was good first hand experience of that.
