Thumbs up Reel Class Wednesday 7/1 Ling & Cod - Decent Fishing!

Ran our first deepwater bottom trip today with a crew of 5.

Ran up north instead of OFF. Started on some rocks/mussels in 105' and had a steady pick of ling and congos. Pout got vicious at times and we had to shift and drop back. Would pick ling amongst loads of eels. Kept shifting, kept catching, but it was a tough go.

Tried a wreck in 220' around noon time, and had real crappy conditions with wind against so we had to power drift (YIKES) but made the best of it boating 4 keeper cod, a few shorts, and some real fat ling.

Finished up back inshore around 100' and had some more ling to round off the catch.

Total for the day was 107 ling, and 4 keeper codfish to 25". Also had some throwback tog, a silver eel, and one barely keeper seabass. NO flounder. Next trip for these things we're gonna look in a little different direction - that's next wednesday. Great crew today, always fun fishing with Dolores & Brian, as well as Steve and the Iceman Fred & Bill who I see now more than my wife Thanks for coming down guys!

PS -- Got room Friday for fluke, as well as Monday - fluking has been decent
