Got out and was able to hit the water for the whole day for the first time since the start of the Pike A Thon. And FINALLY I am able to say I did battle with my first pike!
But, unfortunately, my first battle ended up with a spit hook at the boat. Fish looked to be around 26". Oh well. Got a few follows after that and then was throwing around a popper near some weeds when it got "smashed"! Got a good laugh in and landed a dinky 16" pike which is now technically my first pike. Well hey, gotta start somewhere right??
I'm just glad to have finally hooked up with something!
