All depends on depth for me. Surf and shallow, light spinning outfit with 10-15 lb braid and 10-15 lb short leader tied direct to a clipped buck tail tipped with meat or gulp. Deeper waters, like those I fish out east in montauk, torium 14 with 30 lb braid, usually sufix 832, 10-15ft of 30-40 lb mono or copolymer on a shimano teramar inshore rod. Sweeeeeeeeeet sweet set up... Light enough for inshore fluke n seabass, just enough to bounce 8 oz jigs in 140-175 ft of water for cod, pollock, offshore seabass and offshore scup.
