It's nice out there when the only other person in sight is the person you're fishing with! It's even better when you hardly talk all day bc you're both too busy chasing flag after flag! As Dale stated, we caught a stupid number of fish. The bass were not the ones we want, but they were chunky and rippin' spools. Some of the perch were beasts. I have a couple in my cooler that I measured and they taped out just over 13"... Crazy how many big ones are in there. Hoping we get a 15+" this yr... And I def need to sharpen my jig skills. I dunno if it was a combo of too stout of a rod and too light of a spoon, but the crappie I dropped would've easily measured up, if not exceeded, the one I posted in the contest. The fish darted across the hole at the end of the fight and the treble caught the ice popping the spoon free from its mouth...
