Default weekend ice fishing report

i fished saturday, i hit a small lake...it really wasn't that bad, a strong gust now and then not too cold, didn't even open the hand/feet warmer packs. unfortunately it was a slow day, the fish were picky as hell, bum rushing my jig on almost every drop and then just floating next to it for up to 20 seconds at a time...it was pretty ridiculous. tried a few different lures with different crap tipped on it, but all i could manage was a few perch; two were pretty nice though (11" and 12"). also a few avg pickerel on tip ups.

Sunday we hit swarts, plan was walleye and smallies...we didn't know there was a massive contest there haha, oh well we got a decent spot anyway or so we thought...the fish seemed pretty aggressive but apparently we were in pickerel central! no weeds near most of the area we were. mostly deeper water 15-30ft. pickerel everywhere bottom, suspended, everywhere! moved in shallow, even more pickles! we were trying to get on our target fish and just couldn't avoid them. I'm not complaining, catching is catching, but it was frustrating to see aggressive fish and not be able to find them cause you just know they'd bite if you found them!

8 days out so far in 2015 with 45 fish tallied up, about 5.5 fish average per day...sadly not too bad considering my past ice fishing track record! haha
