Re: State Obtains Bulk of Easements Needed for Shoreline Projects;
"Beach widening" AKA kiss your favorite surf fishing spot goodbye. The beach replenishment that already took place has ruined many great spots already, to the extent that many ignorant and idiotic surf guys claim we need to reduce the amount of fish we catch by half. Just because the fish didn't swim within 200 feet of your favorite spot doesn't mean they are gone.
So, what happens when beach widening is completed? That's a trick question because it never really ends. They'll pump it up and the ocean will take it away again...and again.
The worst part about it is so much of the massively expensive beach rebuilding will not be accessable to the public and much of what will be open you'll have to pay to get on it. F*** that! You want your expensive waterfront homes protected with public tax revenue? You want your shore communities and businesses protected and revitalized on the tax payers dime? Fine. But to make people pay to access those beaches is criminal.
