				 Gambler's 2nd 48
Got to the Hudson and dropped the hook south of the "elbow" little after 5pm...first 45# yft in @ 7-next one in @ 8 same size. After that a flurry at 9 of 80# & bigger yft's and another around 11 of the same. Had a slow pick lft's & yft's 'til 3AM when the wind which had been blowing 15-20+ started honking as the front came through & an air temp drop of 5+ degrees. That turned off the bite. Also had an 80-85# swordy put on board and another rat released unharmed. Also had a blue marlin on for a bit and, of course, blue dogs. Pulled the hook around 7AM and pot hopped for mahi...then tried a drift for tiles and/or tuna. Tiling was all but impossible as the wind and seas still hadn't started to lay down...around 9AM it did so Capt. Mike dropped the hook and we commenced to get some tiles. Totals for the 1st night/day: 1 swordy, 11 tuna, almost equal division of yf/lf.Report of cold water South and North prompted us to set up early(2PM) just about where we were only on the "flats" now. Last night due to a wind shift, we swung 180 and ended up in "the deep". Now with diminishing wind & seas, guys could go for tiles while the rest did tuna. Then as the sun set the winds came on again with bigger seas. A slow pick of more lft's than yft's gradually came to a halt also with the exception of a legal swordy and a released rat and the occasional blue dog run/cutoff. A couple of free swimming mahi put in the box both days. Identical totals for the second day only with more longfin than yellowfin for trip total of 22 tuna with 2 swordys, a few very nice tiles and a few mahi10-15#. Water temp 71-73+. Hardly any life at any time but we had lots of that wonderful weed-lots more on Thursday night. Moon came up big and red both nights before sun had set and was still up as sun came up each morning...As always, thanks to Capt's Mike, Greg, Todd and crew-Alex, Chris, Tim(chef also) for a safe and enjoyable trip. Always a pleasure.....
