Default Simplest Snell

Now that Fluke season is over, I'm changing gears and getting ready to start Blackfishing. I like to pre tie hooks with leaders so when I do snag bottom and break off the rig, it's one less thing I have to re tie.

I think snelled hooks are the way to go for Blackfishing. When you go to set the hook it pulls the hook in the proper direction for better hooksets and when used in conjunction with a stiffer leader, it tends to keep the hook from wiggling around on the line and tangling back on the leader.

Joey Dah Fish started tying his snells this way. Check out the video, a lot less effort and much simpler then any other snell I've tried to tie.

Can't wait to feel the first blackfish of the season crush my crab.
