The valley fishes differently just about everyday, depends alot on weather conditions IMO. What I do is start w known depths u see fish/bait at. I usually run 2 dowriggers and I stack one of them w two lines, close to bottom on the long line and 20-25 on a short setback for the stack. Ill run 2-4 planers targeting 10-20ft down w either rapalas/stickbaits using the appropriate weight/leads to get down to where I want. On the other downrigger I will actually work a single line and hug the bottom for lakers, always watching my depth on the bow sonar and adjusting to stay 5ft or so up off bottom. As I troll I will mark w chartplotter either pods of fish or bottom lakers and either make a wide turn and go thru them, or target them later when taking a break and jig the lakers. Also pay attention to depths of fish marked, if you see marks at a certain depth often adjust to that depth, lures are pretty basic. I mainly troll spoons using cowbell flashers, I like smaller rigs to keep resistance down while fighting fish. Kokanee type trolling gear is great for RV and ur basic rapalas/stickbaits work well too. You can also anchor up and downline/liveline shiner/herring and fish that way, or mix it up. Large trout are rare these days at RV, ur biggest fish are gonna be lakers on the bottom, some are very good fighters especially in shallower water, Ive got some in 90+ that fought pretty good too, and some are wet towels as Andy says lol
