The whole stocking program just doesn't make sense. If you would not stock a pond full of "toothy predators" why do they also stock ponds that are shallow and become choked with weeds by mid-June? A pond near me is a case in point where I bet < 1/16 of the stocked trout (~250) are actually caught before the pond is choked and the summer heat kills them. This practice is perhaps repeated across the state. Just my 2 cents.
