Default Looking for some advice for fishing the salty stuff

Hi folks,

I've been an avid sweetwater fisherman my whole life, growing up in Michigan. I have lot of big-water experience fishing/boating the Great Lakes.

My father recently gave me his 21' sterndrive cuddy cabin w/ hardtop and I've been taking it out into Raritan Bay and around the hook fishing for fluke/striper/whatever. The boat itself is outfitted for fishing...planer boards, downriggers, outriggers.

I'm curious what else is in my fishing range with this boat. Obviously, I'm not heading for the canyons, but the Mud hole certainly isn't out of the question. It's trailered, so I can pick my launching point to minimize cruise time.

My saltwater fishing experience is a bit limited, a few party boats over the years, fluke, bluefish, striper. I'd like to expand the species list as much as possible and hopefully get a few suggestions as to where to go.

thanks,

Jim
