Flatheads spawn mid June through mid July +/- week or two on weather. We always hammered them throughout may into early june, around 2nd to 3rd week of June fishing always died off with mostly little fish. When you did catch a larger one they would have spawning wounds, irritated fins, bellys, heads etc from building and protecting their nests. Mid July bite slowly picks back up till finally gets good September and early October.
