River clean-up South Branch July 27th:
Three zones starting at:
Old Red Mill (Clinton Town)--2.20 miles
Hamden Road--1.18 miles
Camp Carr--2.00 miles
...finishing at Awossogame Grove (Kiceniuk Rd)
As of now our tentative meeting point for all volunteers is at our final access point at Awossogame Grove. There is ample parking and it will allow teams from any zone to finish in the same spot.
We will meet at 8am for sign in and breakfast.
Please remember to wear sturdy shoes, clothing you don't mind getting dirty and bug/sun spray. Feel free to bring along your favorite work gloves and any tools you like to use.
We will provide breakfast, water and snacks for the day and we will also have some tools.
Please let us know if you have a canoe or flat bottom boat available, we don't spend much time in the canoes ourselves but the more cargo space we have for trash and tires the better.
This season we will allow for flexibility so if we have more volunteers than we anticipated and enough gear we will consider adding extra zones. For July 27th that may include an extra zone downstream. This will allow us to make up for zones we didn't get to yet.
