I still generally fish big lures because I don't want to catch sunnies, perch or tiny bass but I've caught many a fish on lures almost as big, or bigger than the fish, so that doesn't work either.

I've caught multiple 6-7lb Hybrids, True Strain Stripers and countless 20"-23" Largemouths on 2" swimbaits. Many times, they will outfish my 3" and 4" offerings.
