if you end up fishing herring during the spawn, its best to clip fins and make them swim funny. The problem w liveline is they go down, thats not where they usually get nailed u want them up top. My buddy fishes herring 12" from a tiny crappie bobber to keep em high, says it works. Also anthony fished last year one night w herring on a 3 way rig LH style to the bottom and got a dozen during the spawn that way. I wouldnt have thought it to work but sometimes switchin gears pays off, if the water isnt weedy maybe even a short downline off the corners, they will hit right at the boat no problem
