Sat. June 7th. Wife gave me a Charter for my birthday. Non-sponsor, out of Leonardo Marina.
Orig. plan was for a bottom trip, with 2 of my nephews, Shamus & Steve, B-I-L Mike, Jeff S., and Bruce R. Capt. Frank called on Friday and said the striper bite was going strong and if we could all get to the boat and hour earlier we could make bait and spend an hour or two live lining. I made the calls, and and it was all Good. (Except for Steve, he wound up in the hospital with an intestinal problem.)
Good call on the stripers as Brucie hooked up and landed his PB, a true 40#. I had one maybe 25? Didn't bother to even weigh it after Bruce weighed his. Fish seemed scattered and we didn't want to spend the day chasing marks so off we went to do some bottom dropping! Picked up 3-4 dozen biscuits and maybe a dozen Ling, ran out of clams and called it a day. Couldn't ask for a better day. Have to say thank you to Joe S for throwing the net for us and, most of all a big thank You to my Bride for the great Birthday present!
