I use the 7040 for most of my fluking. All deep water and heavy jigs up to 12oz. I also use it for tog, and other heavy weight bottom fishing. I have no problem using it in shallower either. It's a great all around rod. I do want to get the 7020 or 30 for shallow water casting bucktails when there is no drift.
