SHIT! That pond always gets poached heavily before opening day.
It's a bad location.
I can't remember what year it was (1990's or early 2000's) but a while back nearly every trout was poached from the pond before opening day.
Opening day came and people were standing around looking at the water wondering where the hell all the trout were. I finally caught one trout and it already had a hook and a few inches of line in its mouth.
I showed the trout and complained to a conservation officer and he just shrugged and said they can't be everywhere at once.
