50 lb. test braid never gets tangled. Then a barrel swivel to 12 lb. fluorocarbon leader. Lost too many big fish, especially toothy ones, on 6-10 leader. I prefer small minnows. Big fish will take them too. But you have a better chance hooking perch and crappies on small minnows.
