I've gotten wet a few times, even stayed out for an entire day after going in up to my chest while getting on the ice in the morning, but my craziest story is when I floated down a river on a big chunk of ice. I was fishing a river cove that had 10" of ice and the edges melted in the afternoon and the current and wind pushed me down the river to the opposite bank. I had just gotten my showdown and all the sudden the depth went from 20 to 19...18...17...I thought the thing was defective until I turned around and saw 30 yards of water in between where I got on and the edge of the ice. Talk about an OH $HIT moment! I got off the ice on the opposite bank and hiked about a mile through the woods and my dad picked me up and drove me back around to where I was parked. Here are some before and after pics. Has anyone else tried trolling with tipups?
