Re: Float Trip Advice
I've done several multiday kayak float trips on the Deli. The one resource that has been invaluable to us is Canoeing the Delaware River by Gary Letcher. You can find it on Amazon or any local outfitter. It's a detailed guide book of every nook and cranny the river has to offer including all public and private campsites, launches, cool historical perspectives about different sections of the river, etc... It also has detailed info in every rapid and eddy out there. It doesn't have much fishing perspective but you will find the spots by reading the river as you travel. If you haven't done much of the NJ section I'd suggest floating through the Walpack Bends. If you want to float the Gap plan your trip to end at the take out just down river of the I-80 bridge because camping spots are scarce below the Gap. You will be fine with the square back. The trolling motor would help you get around also as long as the river isn't flowing far above normal.
