Its been years since I've been up there. Far from "fishing". If you need to impail a hook into a fish don't call yourself a fisherman.
Yea yea yea, you all go up there and catch em right. How do you catch a fish that has not and does not want to eat? The ammount of "aggression" strikes everone says they get can not possibly equal the snagged fish.
Argue all you want. I've been there. Snagged my share but honestly tried to fish even with a guide who flat out told me these fish won't bite.
Now if you are fishing the river for chrome or browns that is another story.

Salmon bite (out of aggression) the first 24-36 hours in the river then they don't. That is a fact.
Most will argue that they don't and most guides up there don't have a clue. I watched a female king drop back and eat my stonefly nymph while I was targeting browns and steelhead.
I floss some fish but they do bite out of aggression. I only fish the DSR so you are right once they are farther up river they don't bite, but when the just come in off the lake they still bite out of aggression.
