Just one correction and that is they need plenty of fresh (salt) water to keep them going. You will see them start to slow down in your live well and then kaputz. If you are filling the live well by hand then every 1/2 hour or so to keep them going.
5/0-6/0 hook small shot or egg depending on current and where the blue fish are...sometimes no weight at all. I hook mine in the mouth up through the fish Look for structure and let them inhale it..don't jerk. I caught some recently in Cape May doing this with fresh spot and croaker. (this was on a boat drifting jetties...not off the surf)
