That is a huge difference bassn....More then double the fuel consumption is seas but there's isn't anything you can do about conditions... They are what they are.

If I were in your shoes I'd want to know where I get my best fuel economy based on your hull and engine combination... Like Frank sugested engine trim is a great way to get a bit more speed so you need to find the correct attitude for your hull but you also need to find you most fuel efficent RPM too.

If I were you I would test for trim and RPM settings in typical conditions you regularly encounter that gets the best MPH so you get your best fuel consumption.
