I did a two week trip up there last Sept.
Rented a cottage on Newboro lake [McCaskill Island] and also fished Clear and Indian lakes that are connected.
Newboro is a giant weed bed. Caught some nice Lm but they are hard to locate because the weeds are shore to shore. The locals weren't doing much better.
I have fished a lot better places in Canada.
I will tell you to be careful up there because a couple of days after returning from that trip I spent five weeks in Chilton hospital with Legionnaires' disease. Eight days of that in ICU.
Seems there were over seventy cases of it reported in Ont.
I was told the spore could have come out of the shower head in the cottage we were in [lake water].
Not to put a damper on your trip--just a heads up.
