Default Re: fly gear recommendations

I've been using TFO fly rods for the past 8 or so years. Lifetime Warranty is very important when fishing for the beasts up there. The 9wt 9' is good but for the kings I've found that a 9 10' is better. If you are looking to salmon and steel a lighter rod but longer length would be ok say a 8 wt 10'. I haven't seen thier switch rods yet but that could be even better choice because of the extended handle that can be used while fighting. I use a Lamson reel with a large arbor for better line pickup and smoother drag that reel has had the sh*t kicked out it for 10+ yrs and is still great. But I also picked up a Pflueger triton for my kid and it has been a great reel with a solid drag. Hope this helps.
