This rod is rated for 50-100# and only looks light and feels light to hold. Its actually more powerful than most of the manufactured chunking rods made. We worked for a few years to get this one right. Have had 275# tuna landed in Mexico on test rods.
Just because a rod has heavy guides, or is larger, does not mean its stronger. A good builder will get you into something similar. Jigging is the least of this one. Its more for trolling and chunking. The jig range is 6-15ozs. Stop by to look at one and then compare it to other rods in its class. Its free to look and compare. To be honest, your better off shopping around anyway. Kevin Bogan builds his own style, you may find his rod is the one for you. Or another biilder may have what you want...... but last thing you want to do is buy a rod for yourself, based on another mans preferance.
