Honestly didnt know about circle hooks back then, but they are not necessary if you know when to set the hook.
No fish I caught were harmed or kept . I dont have a problem with people keeping them, I will keep them occasionally if i feel the desire to eat them. Its the disregard for bag limits that bothers me.
