hi men, smaller the better! we usually use 16 to 17 ounces but with a fast drift may go to 21's but will more likely motor fish. perfect tides will drop to 14 or 10's, very effective. norweigen's, crockdile's, slabs are different types but we prefer the hammer's. good action and hit the bottom quickly. good luck. best, capt. jim
