Default Re: water temp?

Water temps in my Central Jersey spots have been in the forties until Friday when I caught and released 23 crappies to 12.75", 11 largemouth bass to 12.75" and a bluegill with a 1/32 oz unpainted leadhead jig and 1" purple twister tail on 2 lb test line in a small 50 degree pond. When I returned yesterday the water was 55 degrees and I caught and released 30 crappies to 11", 7 largemouth bass to 12" and 4 bluegills with a green 1/32 oz leadhead jig and 1" chartreuse twister tail on 2 lb test line. It looks like the magic number is 50 degree water for ultralight jigging. Fish were swirling and turtles were out. I caught few fish when the water was < 50 degrees in all of my spots.
